Write your home business's objective. This is a short, punchy description of your company and its services. If you are asked what your company does, you will be able to recite your set objective. You will always have something concise and easy to present about your business and products, which will instill confidence in your potential customers.

Keep your customers informed, but don't overdo the messages. Use newsletters, optional e-mail or text alerts to relay any new information or specials you implement. Avoid sending too many letters to your customers. Many customers don't like companies to flood their inbox.

If you run a daycare at home, you may need to employ people, if there are too many kids for you too handle. If you are short-staffed, it can be difficult to get the kids to eat or take a nap.

To better track your business-related spending, open a specific checking account for your business. Make sure all orders and expenses go through this account. By doing so, you will never be confused about your expenditures or how much you are making. Use a business credit card for transactions that you cannot pay cash for, such as building inventory, in order to keep business separate from your personal accounts.

If you have a home business, expect lots of phone calls. You would do well to establish a separate phone line for your business. When you do not want incoming calls, simply make sure you set your phone to not ring.
